I was on a shoot last week - cobblers and their muses. Snapped a couple of nice shots in the green room of the maestro and his missus while waiting for my turn.

Spent a bit of the Easter holidays in Catalonia. Made a pilgrimage to minimalism by re-visiting the Mies Van de Rohe German Pavilion in Barcelona and eating at the extraordinary Les Cols in Olot. (www.lescols.com).

Jeremy Deller

I keep thinking about the Turner prize winning artist Jeremy Deller's Joy in People exhibition at the Hayward (until 13th May). I love it; the freshness and honesty of it all, the clear, knowingly naive torrent of really good ideas. The honest fact that he decided right at the beginning of his career not to actually paint or 'create' in any traditional way has allowed him incredible scope to carry out and execute idea after idea almost as they are forming. I love the story of him being 'picked' by Andy Warhol at his last private show in London to join him and his entourage back at the Ritz...

My juices are pumping (yuck). Just loved ‘The Artist’ - there are so many wonderful things to be said about this film: It’s the antidote to every modern filmmaking method and hits you hard between the eye and the heart, with the mega wattage of wonderful casting (that smile! those eyes!) and that old fashioned thing called CHARM!! See it, vote for it! Less is so much more...

Back from the Christmas hols. My highlight has to have been a family outing to the Tiffany ice-skating rink at Somerset House on Christmas eve. Was positively balmy - god knows how magical it must be with snow and twinkly lights at night time...
