Highest Heels
THE HIGHEST HEELS IN THE WORLD...?
As part of Vogue magazine's 'Fashion's Night Out', Rupert Sanderson came up with the ingenious idea of attempting to create the highest heeled shoes in the world!
On the evening, Rupert Sanderson and his team, along with a number of customers and passers by, set to work painting over 160 square pieces of card, measuring 60x60 each. Each square, painted a slightly different shade of pink, represented a single pixel of his fuchsia satin shoe 'Delta'.
With the beer and music flowing, Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud adding a bit of celebrity-factor to the mix, and Vogue TV on hand to document everything, the task was complete by 11pm and all the squares had been painted.
A few days later on a dark and frosty morning, Rupert Sanderson's team set off to place all the 'pixels' out in the correct order in Berkeley Square, whilst Rupert Sanderson boarded his private helicopter at Stapleford Aerodrome, in order to fly above Berkeley Square and shoot the shoe from above with Leica's official aerial photographer.
We think the result is pretty impressive!
